On Saturday March 27th I will be a part of the Cirque Imaginaire:Traveling Art Gallery. I've been working lately on pieces specifically for this show as well as for my Etsy shop. Some are available on Etsy now, but most of them will be for sale during Cirque Imaginaire.

"We're All Mad Here"

So this past week I had some extra time so I decided to work on some more movie themed robots and to test out a new type of clay that I bought. I'm not too pleased with it. It was too soft and oily. It also didn't hold shape too well. Anyways With the release of the remake of Alice in Wonderland quickly approaching, it seemed like the obvious choice. I like the way the Mad Hatter turned out, but I'm thinking of remaking Alice. Tell me what you think (:

Mad Hatter Robot

Alice in Wonderland Robot

The following robot has nothing to do with Alice in Wonderland. I decided to make him after seeing the trailer for the movie Cop Out for the millionth time on TV.

1st Robot Idea Contest Winner Announced

Voting in the robot idea contest has ended and the 1st winner is:

"I'm The DJ" Robot By Kayleigh Doughty

This is the image that was submitted to the contest:

This is my sculpture adaptation. I tried to keep it close to the original submission but add a little more too.

I will be announcing the other winners and the adjoining figures over the next week. So keep checking back.

Bacon Head Boy and His Pet Pig

A match made in Heaven? Or is someone very confused? This little piggy identifies with the plight of the boy.

This is my newest venture using polymer clay and shrink film.

Bacon boy stands about 4" tall.

*As every strip of bacon is different the shape of figures head will vary.

I've Been Blogged About

Today I received two messages through Etsy Convo from awesome people who have blogged about some of my items. First http://www.seemegshop.com/2009/10/30/friday-ramblings/ posted about how much she loved the earrings her husband bought her from my etsy jewelry shop sugaredwithspite.etsy.com . She says that she has been wearing the same diamond earrings she received from her husband on her wedding day since that day, but took them out because she wanted to wear the new earrings that badly.

Next http://www.sewcupcake.blogspot.com/ featured my Sleepy Robot Figure in her "Whacky Wednesday- Cute gifts for children". Though I really appreciate her featuring one of my items, I will just say I do not recommend giving any of my figures to children as they are fragile. This is the 2nd blog in the last few weeks to feature my Sleepy Robot.

New Graffiti Robots Series 1

I have always been a fan of urban vinyl toys. I've decided to try my hand at making a smaller version out of polymer clay. My first series is titled "Graffiti Robots" available on my new Etsy page here sleepyrobot13.etsy.com
